Presley Presley Presley

Work was pretty intense today. I was put in the preschool classroom (2 and 3 years).. and it is a pretty tough room. I have been put in this classroom pretty regularly though for the past month. Anyway, this past week the numbers have been pretty low, so they have been putting me in there by myself so that the lead teacher can take an early break and get things done during nap time. So, the ratio for this class is 11:1. I walked into the class with 11 kids already. 2 more came in that caused me to bump the older ones up to Junior Pre-K. So I was at full ratio, and the kids were very rowdy. If there were ever a time for two teachers to be in that class, today was the day. Now... a little girl named Presley, kept starting fights and screaming at kids today... okay nothing new.. whatever. Then a child got into Presley's back pack and took her sunglasses out of them. Presley saw this and yanked the little girl by her hair down to the floor. I am telling you.. this child is ruthless. She got in trouble with me of course after that. 11:15 rolls around and the room is picked up but we still had 15 minutes to lunch. I was about to read a story to the kids on the circle time carpet when I hear this blood curdling scream. Presley had bitten a different girl... and broke the skin. Needless to say, Presely had some incident reports that needed to be written up... and I needed to write incident reports for her poor victims. I called Brandy (the director), and she brought me some ice and took Presely outside because she had been very bad. We have Lunch... all is going well... and then Karma got Presley... She was laying on her mat ready for nap time, and a boy accidently kicked her in the face when he was walking. Presely had a very bloody nose... blood was all over her blankets, her shirt, my hands, her face... It was a night mare. Again... I'm all by myself in this very full classroom. I am having to hold Presley down with tissues up to her nose, because all she wants to do is run around the class screaming WITHOUT tissues on her nose.... All of the other kids were fascinated by the blood, so we had an audience. Another incident report to write...

Maybe a nap will help... needless to say I am Happy to be home early!
