I am just finishing up my 4 day weekend. Friday was a bad weather make-up day, and since we didn't have any snow days this year, we got an extra day off added to the Memorial Day weekend! This week will be the last 4 days that I actually teach my 3 classes. It doesn't even feel real! The last week of school will fly by with a board game day, fun in the sun day, end of the year party, and the celebration of learning. My kiddos will do a ceremonial "last walk" throughout the halls of their elementary school. I will probably be in the corner sobbing as I usually do when I have to say good-bye to a group of students.
Health update! I have been keeping up with the running and work out videos! My 10K mud race got postponed until September though! Huge bummer, because I would have been so ready for it on June 1st! I ran 5.92 miles last night! I still hate running, but I like the feeling of increasing my distance every week. It makes me want to sign up for a half marathon... we shall see about that one though..
I am obsessed with a new app on my phone called My Fitness Pal. I log in the food that I eat, and track my calories that way. I also log my work-outs in. It really puts things in perspective. Running for 50 minutes burns 600 calories and kicks my butt, but a whataburger honey butter chicken biscuit is 590 calories! down 15 lbs from where I started in March! Feeling good and fitting into the clothes I was wearing last summer!
