Well Spring Break is coming to a close... and it has been great! I have been working a lot, but that's okay i guess. Next year I won't have a job during Spring Break! I did schedule in some fun by going to Austin, TX for the weekend. The weather was fantastic the whole weekend. I went with a group of people, but spent the days with the boyfriend. everyone in the group kind of had their own agenda. I don't mention the boyfriend a lot on this blog, so just a quick run down... His name is Nolan Jager Loyde but has gone by Jager his whole life. yes... Jager as in Jagermeister or Jager bomb. His parents named him after some composer.. they were both band directors. now that the name story is out of the way. Haha. We have been dating for well over year, and have been friends ever since I came to UNT. (We were in the UNT marching band together.) He graduated with a degree in music education in May.. and got a job as a Band director at Westfield High School. Westfield HS is located in Spring,TX.... aka HOUSTON. We have been doing the long distance thing because he hopes to be back in the metroplex area in a year or two. It's not too bad. I miss him sometimes, but school is a nice distraction.
Just to brag on him a teensy bit.. He was awarded "Rookie Teacher of the Year" at Westfield (chosen by administration out of all of the first year teachers. now he's up for some district teacher of the year and if he gets that then he could be the state of Texas' rookie teacher of the year! haha lets not get ahead of ourselves though.
Anyway.. now that the boyfriend run down has been done, I can show pictures! The highlight of our Austin trip was a segway tour! it was totally worth the money and anytime we ever go on a trip we HAVE to do one! a tradition has been started. We also hit up some famous austin restaurants such as Kerby Lane, Jo's, and the Oasis. We got a pretty exclusive tour of the TX state capitol building because Jager has a good friend that works there. we even got to go on the balcony of the capitol and into some representaives offices... we definitely hit up the unique shops and austin, and other than that just walked around downtown. before we knew it the weekend was over and I had to go back to work!
