Apartment found.

Caroline and I found an apartment! it was so exciting!

I finally feel like everything is falling into place. Ever since I found out I was going to be student teaching in Frisco ISD, I started looking at apartments online in an area that Caroline and I could move into. ( we were hoping for George bush and Dallas North Tollway) I didn't know the school yet, and the district is 75 sq.miles... so I wanted to wait to find that out before I went looking and sign a lease. I found out my school last week, Ashley Elementary, and it is the farthest Northeast I could have possibly gotten. Just my luck right? I am practically in McKinney City Limits! So all the apartments Caroline and I were hoping to look at were too far away from my school! I started my search all over again... we couldnt find anything in our $800 budget. I was started to stress out because I thought Caroline was disappointed in having to drive farther to work... I made a spread sheet of about 20 apartments in our budget in so many idfferent surrounding cities. We narrowed it down to 6 that we wanted to go look at from 1 in The Colony, 3 in Plano, 1 in Frisco, and 1 in McKinney (this one was the fathest for caroline, but the cheapest. $669 for a 2 bed2bath!).

So we go to the one in The Colony first. It was nice, but more expensive than it was listed for online. We liked it a lot, and caroline was thrilled with the location... Something that I was pleasantly surprised with! We looked at another we saw next door and it was still a little on the high side. $873 for the floorplan we wanted.. we decided that if all the other places we looked at sucked, we would just suck it up and pay extra for the good location. (ps. this lady was literally 3 minutes behind us the whole time. she was looking in the exact same apartment units/floorplans we were!) The third one we went to was the Frisco one. it was 2 miles down the road from the first two we looked at. it's right off of 121 and the Dallas North Tollway. We get there and 3 minutes later that same lady shows up! looking at the same thing we are. This is when it got interesting. I mentioned that I saw online they were having a special on their 2bed room mate floorplan for $810. She said that the special she had down was $899 for that plan. whoops thats too high for us, see ya! but then she says that since we saw it and they forgot to take it down, she was going to honor the price we saw!!!! This apartment is usually $975 a month! we looked at the unit and it was everything we wanted on our wishlist and then some!!!! that darn lady was looking at it too, and it was the last one they had available!!!! so we called my mom to get the okay to sign the lease today. Phew! we beat her to it! it could not have worked out anymore perfectly!!!! its funny that caroline and i psyched ourselves up saying that we were just looking and we werent going to sign anything that day... but we HAD to! We didnt even go look at the ones in Plano!

Some amazing features of my new apartment...
THE PRICE!!! $810 for a 2 bed/2 bath! and since we signed on the day we looked, we get $200 off our first full month!!!
The storage!!! each bedroom has a HUGE walk-in closet... that was the one thing i was really wanting. and on top of the huge closets, there is a massive pantry in the kitchen, and huge linen closets in both bathrooms!!! also a nice outdoor storage closet on our patio!
We have a fireplace, carpet in the bedrooms and living rooms, faux wood floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, GARDEN TUBS in both bathrooms... and we have door step trash pick up on Monday Wednesday and Friday!!!
It's in a really nice area, with the Westin on Legacy hotel on one side, and the stonebriar golf course on the other. a brand new super target is 2 miles down the service road and IKEA/stonebriar mall/everything you could ever need is 1-2 miles down the other way! we are right off the major roads we wanted but still seculded behind trees. Its 11.4 miles away from my elementary school, and 25 miles from Carolines work! and for the first semester that I still have to go to UNT, I am only 40 minutes away from Denton, rather than 2 hours (with Traffic) had we gone to plano... I can not think of one bad thing about this apartment.
