April/May is a super crazy busy time for teachers. The kids act like the year is over and nothing matters because STAAR testing is over, and at the same time, administration starts to look ahead to next year, and you know that things could change for the school at any moment, yet you are still trying to stay focused on THIS year.
Some news, I have been asked to teach ALL content next year. This means I will be teaching Math, Reading, Writing, Science and Social Studies. It's sure to be a lot of work, and I keep going back and forth between being excited about the opportunity and how marketable it will make me for the future, and then super nervous about how much work/prep/grading there will be in my future! I was also selected to be the Instructional Team Leader for 5th grade! This is something I am super excited about because it will give me leadership experience and also make me more marketable in the future!
To add to the craziness of next year, I have registered to run the Dallas Marathon. That's right, 26.2 miles. Eek! It will be one heck of a fall semester!!!
I just finished my 2nd grad school course, and am looking forward to the 2 week break until I start my 2 summer courses. Still going strong and glad to check another class off the list!
