Procrastination at it's finest

Right now I should be working on my grad school work, but I am really not motivated at the moment. I can't believe that it is Thanksgiving Break and it is almost over! The fall semester always goes by so quickly with all of the activities that take place.

School/Work:

Really loving my students this year. They are all so sweet, loving, and weird! We had a blast at Pine Cove at the beginning of November, even though it rained on us the whole first day we got there. I love the Pine Cove trip, because you get to bond with the students on a different level than if you were at school with them. Things are still busy and we are still having meetings about meetings, but I think the next 3 weeks before Winter Break will be manageable.

Grad School:

After my super interesting class Race, Gender, and Class Issues in Education, I had to take an Administrator's role in Curriculum class. Definitely not as interesting, as the other one, but it is very much related to what I do every day. What I can't stand about this course is all of the papers I have to write. My last course was discussions and quizzes. This course is discussions and papers, and the discussion questions may as well be another paper! I am in the final 2 weeks of this course, and have 2 major assignments I need to be knocking out right now... I am SO looking forward to not having to do grad school work during my winter break!

Marathon Update:

We are closing in on the Dallas Marathon I will be running on Decemeber 14th! Rachel and I have bumped up our training to include a 20 mile long run in place of the 19 mile scheduled run, and a 22 mile long run in place of the original 20 miles. 22 miles is the most we will run in training, and we conquered that this past weekend! For the next 2 weeks we rest our bodies and do smaller runs until the big day! I am so excited to get this over with, but want to savor every moment!

Our first goal is to finish the marathon, 2nd goal is get it done in under 5 hours. We will see if that is possible... maybe the adrenaline will enough to push us faster.

My feet and knees really struggle with the long distances. My body will be thanking me when I go back to regular workouts!

Playtime:

September was a big month of fun, and October/November were as well! Every weekend was at least a half marathon or great distance long run, so that took up some time out of the weekend. Rachel and I still managed to walk around the State Fair of Texas, and partake in Cedar Springs Halloween Block Party again for the 2nd year in a row. November was  filled with Pine Cove, My sweet friend's daughter's 1st birthday party and a little gender reveal at the same time, and Thanksgiving Break! Katie and I had an adventure in Downtown Dallas one day, and of course, going up to Oklahoma to celebrate Thanksgiving with family is always a good time! I look forward to the Christmas parties and marathon festivities that await me in December!
