Bad idea, UNT...

This blog was originally intended to be a pleasant one about tomorrow being my last day in 4th grade, how sad I am and how much I love the kids, etc. Until I found out some horrible news.

UNT has decided to move around and CHANGE the day and time of my graduation.

I was very very very upset. (I was upset about something else before this happened but will blog about that in a second). The original date and time for my graduation was to be Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 5:00PM. I was a little unhappy about ti being scheduled for 5pm, because I wanted to take some pictures afterward with my people and I wanted nice lighting provided by the sun My skin does not do well with a flash.. in the dark.

So now the NEW day and time is set for FRIDAY THE 13th! at 7:00PM!!!!!!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THESE PEOPLE SMOKING WHEN THEY THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA?!?!?!?!?!!

Here is why I feel that UNT is WRONG:
1. You should never change major plans like that.. people have already made travel plans.
2. The college of education commencement (which usually has it's own ceremony) is being combined with the College of Business and the College of Information. Let me just say that the College of Business is HUGE and the College of Education is even bigger! how are all of these people and their spectators supposed to arrive at the Colliseum during Rush hour traffic on a FRIDAY?!?! What about the people who have jobs?! there are 2 lanes that lead up to Denton on 35E and it is packed on a slow day!
3. My brother may not be able to make it! He might still have a final in Arkansas!
4. My boyfriend might not be able to make it. He has a Job in Houston!
5. There will be zero sunlight for my graduation pictures!
6. I will not get the full day of family celebration, as I would have gotten on a Saturday!
7. I was asked to sub that day for my teacher... Guess I won't be doing that now!

I am very very very very VERY upset about this.. and really worked up. I am crazy. This situation has rocked my boat tonight.

and the reason I was upset before I found out this new news... was that I had my first official break down about not being able to find a job... All districts are making huge cuts, and every time I talk to a teacher from ANYWHERE, they look at me like they feel so sorry for me and my situation about graduating and not being able to find a job...

I am not okay right now.

tomorrow I am calling (940)565-4625... the office in charge of graduation affairs, and I have a couple of questions for them. I am urging all of my cadre girls and other college of Ed peoples to do the same! maybe if enough people complain we could get some momentum going... ahhhh stress stress stress is the story of my life.
