1st Observation and Winter Storm

Monday was the day I was observed by my supervisor for the first time. I was a little nervous at first but then it was easy to pretend he wasn't there. The kids behaved and participated in the lesson as I had hoped! My mentor was sitting in the back of the room with him and told me that he closed his book in the middle of it and said, "Well I think she is a pretty competent lady, let's plan the next observation." So while the kids were working on their activity, we scheduled my next (and final for 4th grade) observation for this Tuesday! I finished up my lesson and when I was finished I got to talk to him and get some feed back. The first thing he said to me was, "Well, we think you're ready to teach." and told me that teaching came very natural to me, and that on all of the factors he was grading me over, I got mostly 5s (a scale of 1-6) and that 6 is for Master teachers so that I really don't have much to worry about. He gave me a couple of pointers and that was that!

Tuesday was a snow day. It was exciting to hear the news because I was exhausted after the weekend of my test and then prepping for my observation. Then Wednesday was the 2nd snow day. It was nice to sleep in, but towards noon I started getting really irritated being stuck inside and feeling so lazy! My room and bathroom and apartment are clean and I have been doing what I can for my online class. Caroline and I bundled up and walked about 2 blocks to Kenny's Burger Joint to have some dinner. Today.. I dont even know what I am going to do with myself. I have been on the internet a lot lately... and my mentor called me and told me that the will most likely cancel school again tomorrow!!! I don't even know what I am supposed to teach on Tuesday! and I can't even think about another day stuck in this place!!!

I think I am getting a cold... hopefully I can nip it in the bud..
