This is the health post I told you to stay tuned for! My poor mother has had to listen to me talk about Advocare all week long!
Since starting my 5th grade long term sub assignment, I am back together with a former cadre member. Lindsey is the 5th grade Math teacher, and she and I were in the same student teaching group. It has been really nice coming into this long term sub assignment with someone I already know!
Lindsey is an Advocare Distributor. I had never heard of it until last week when she mentioned that she was doing the 24 day challenege for the 4th time. We had recess duty together, and each night I had questions about it and would talk to her the next day. I couldn't stop thinking about it and really wanted to try it. All Spring Break I have been talking with my mom about it, trying to amp myself up to do it, and to pay for it!
The 24 day Challenge is a cleanse. It's not a fast. . . a cleanse. I am nervous because for the first 10 days you can't have DAIRY! I don't think I've gone a day in my life without dairy unless I was sick with the flu or something!
Days 1-10 :
No fried food, refined sugars, corn/white starches, or bread
No Wheat products
No dairy
No alcohol (hello... its a cleanse)
No coffee or soda
EAT veggies, fruits, healthy fats and proteins Drinking lots of water and spark
Days 11-24:
you go to an 80/20 situation. Meaning 80% still doing what you were doing on the cleanse, but the other 20% you are allowed to have dairy and wheat bread again!
So I can eat as much as I want.. I just need to make sure that it's CLEAN food. I'm going to load up on a ton of fruits and fresh veggies this week. Since I live right down the road from a Super Target and it's on my way home, I will probably just stop there every other day and whip up sometime fresh for dinner. I am going to make a black bean soup in my crock pot so that I can already have some lunch on hand.
Day 1 for my Cleanse will be on Monday. I think it will be great seeing Lindsey every day to help hold me accountable. Plus I spent a pretty penny for the herbal cleanse pack and Spark canister!
I'll be updating my blog with my progress.
