Getting ahead of the game!

This weekend has been very productive. I always feel good when I can be productive!

Friday after school I was exhausted, and had so much to do. The short 4 day week due to labor day was horrible. We had Curriculum Night to prepare for on Thursday which caused me to stay at school for 13 hours straight. The bilingual teacher and I had no time to plan math for next week, because our planning period is constantly taken up with meetings meetings meetings. I had also left school early without cleaning my room on Tuesday and Wednesday because I was getting my car.

So Friday Mary and I got our math plans in, and my room was a total wreck. I stayed until 7pm but was moving at snail speed. I decided it would be smart to just go home and come up on Saturday. What else do I have to do right?

So I was working in my classroom from 9:30am-2:30pm, and STILL brought home work. I am pleased with how I left my classroom, but still had to do some grading and misc. paperwork.

Today has been great! Slept in, had friends over for lunch, went to cheesecake factory for dessert, and am watching mindless Sunday Night TV while I do classroom stuff. I'm trying to get ahead while I can. This weekend I made all of my high frequency words for the YEAR (for my word wall). high frequency words have to be written on white paper and backed with black paper, and cut to word formation (ex. cut above the t and below the g).

Now I don't have to spend my Fridays making the 3 words for the week. They are done! Hopefully I can stay in the same grade level for a few years. . . I put everything on cardstock so it can last me.

Can't wait till Friday! my bank account needs a payday...
