Busy Bee

Well, October 2013 doesn't have a single blog post... mainly because I have and will continue to have a jam packed schedule with teaching responsibilities, half-marathon training, tutoring, and weekend festivities until Winter Break.

Backing up to the teaching responsibilities, it isn't too bad... I know what I am teaching this year, I know what is going to be on that dreaded standardized test. The lesson plans are different from last year, and we have to plan really far ahead so that any copies we may need, can get sent to the FISD print shop. We aren't supposed to make copies of of large print jobs... those jobs are supposed to be sent out to a print shop, and in 5 days our copies are delivered to us... it sounds nice, but it really is a struggle to have everything in order so far in advance.

Fitness update. Last blog post mentioned my "long run" was 4 miles. Well my last long run was 9 miles!!! We are definitely getting up there in our training! Half-Marathon is just one month away! Our week day trainings consist of a 3 mile run, 5 mile run, 3 mile run all the way until race day, and as far as long runs go, I will be doing 10 miles this upcoming weekend. We get a little bit of a break with a 10K run (6 miles) the weekend of 11/16, and the weekend before Thanksgiving I will run 11 miles, and 12 miles the weekend after Thanksgiving. Hopefully my little bro will be able to run my 3-5-3 mile runs with me that week of Thanksgiving break, because I definitely need a running partner!

I am still going to Zumba religiously. I LOVE the instructor. She also teaches a Body Pump class before her Friday Zumba classes, and I wanted to try it out since I've been doing nothing but Cardio lately. I will definitely start going to her Body Pump classes once the half-marathon is over, because I need to incorporate more weight lifting. It is just too much for me right now, and it made me ridiculously sore the whole weekend.

The scale is not really moving... at all... but my clothes don't fit me. That's a good sign, but I still want the scale to move! I have hit this plateau time and time again!!!

Working out after school has gone from being a chore that I need to get out of the way into my escape from my teacher brain. I definitely got into working out last Spring, slacked a lot over the summer, and have gotten back into it in the fall. I hope to stay on this path and not fall off the wagon again.
