Well it's that time of year where all of the goals you have set for yourself start to seem pretty overwhelming, but you are bound and determined to get it all done anyway!
I've started my first graduate course, and I keep bouncing back and forth from being overwhelmed, to feeling like I have a good handle on it. I am sure you are wondering why I have time to write a blog post when I should probably be working on one of the many assignments I have to get done, but sometimes you just need a break from education talk!
The first class I am taking is titled, "Instructional Leadership." It's 8 weeks long and each week there is an assignment due, an initial discussion post due that answers a long list of questions, and you have to respond to at least 5 other discussion posts from others in the class. On top of it all, the assignment due during the 8th week needs to be worked on throughout the course, and there is a Midterm and Final. I did my first discussion post yesterday, and it took me an hour and a half to address all the questions! Today I replied to a few posts. The professor is adamant that we don't respond to all 5 discussion posts in the same day... we are supposed to be logging in daily, and she wants to see the activity spread out. That's fine by me because I can only handle the class in pieces. I am hoping that this weekend I can knock out the assignment and better organize how I can accomplish it all.
Now more than ever I look forward to leaving to go work-out because it's an escape from work AND school. I am really enjoying the body pump classes Ive started going to, and can already see results in my arms! I've been logging my food and exercise into myfitnesspal since Jan. 3rd, and I have officially lost all of my holiday weight and then some! A total of 7 pounds in 2 weeks!!! Gonna keep on beasting it out in the gym/on the running trail and eating the right kinds of food!
My running buddy is out of town this week, but I still managed to go on all 3 week day runs by myself. I know I will do the Long run on Sunday by myself as well, because I love logging my calories gained during those long runs! Also looking forward to checking out a new trail to keep it interesting.
