Best Pictures and Falling off of Resolutions

I am on a quest to see all of the Oscar Best Picture Nominations before the Academy Awards on March 2nd. Here is the list of what I have seen so far, and what I have left to see:

American Hustle
Captain Phillips
Dallas Buyers Club
Gravity
Her
Nebraska
Philomena
12 Years a Slave
The Wolf of Wall Street

I am going to see The Wolf of Wall Street today, so that will soon be checked off the list leaving only 3 movies left to see! It is an expensive endeavor, but pretty fun. Some I have gone to see with friends, I've seen 2 with my mom, but I have seen several by myself. Captain Phillips I was able to rent on redbox, but I went to see "Her," and "Dallas Buyers Club" in the theater solo. I have to say, I enjoy spending time with myself.

Last weekend I drove myself down to Houston, TX to see my good friend Caroline's new house and baby. I haven't made the drive to Houston by myself in over 2 years (although I rode to Houston last year for Caroline's Bridal shower.. just didn't drive). After all the trips I have made to Arkansas, this 3.5 hour drive felt like NOTHING. It was great to see Caroline, explore and stay in her beautiful home, and hold baby Alden for hours. I am a baby hog, and she was happy to let me have him all to myself!

The New Year's Resolutions starting spiraling out of control on the Friday before I left for Houston. I was feeling really good after my January weight loss, however, this particular week was one of the worst week's I've had as a teacher. On Friday we insisted on getting Chick-fil-a for lunch, no big deal except I had french fries and a diet coke for the first time in a month. Can you say, "re-lapse"? Why is diet coke so so so good?! Also during the craziness of that week, I totally stopped in putting my meals on my fitness pal. I missed one running day, but kept up with the body pump and zumba, and was able to get my weekend run in while in Houston. When I got back on the scale, I had gained 4 lbs!

This past week was one of the coldest weeks ever. Rachel and I were able to run on Monday, but the rest of the week was too cold to even try. I fell asleep and missed Zumba on Wednesday, drank more diet cokes and ate a lot of my dinners out. Somehow my body dropped the 4 lbs by the end of the week, so that is good, but I really need to re-focus. Yesterday was our 8 mile long run, and it was perfection. I had the perfect breakfast, lots of water, and the weather was kind to us for the 2 hours we needed it to be.

Since coming back from Houston, I lost a weekend of cleaning/grocery shopping, and couldn't take care of it when I got back because I had to finish my grad school homework. Today is a deep clean the apartment day, grade papers, and finish my 4th week of grad school. As soon as I submit this assignment, I am officially half way finished with my first course! still making all As!
