Well I submitted my weekly grad school assignment before 11:00PM for a change! I figured I could take a break and update those that read my blog on my progress in my year of multi-tasking.
Grad School: So far I am making all As, so that makes me happy! I am very glad I made the decision to only take one class at a time. two classes would definitely be too much! We just wrapped up Week 3, so in a week I'll be taking my midterm! I stay up late getting everything finished, and I stress out on weekends until I submit my assignment, only to realize I have to do it all over again the following week.
Health/Fitness: I lost a total of 9 lbs in the month of January. Now I am not trying to downplay that accomplishment at all because believe me, I am pumped. However, I had gained 6 lbs over the Christmas break, so I feel like I am just back to where I started before Christmas. Eating the right kinds of food and loggin my calories onto the My Fitness Pal app has been a lifesaver. Body Pump is AWESOME and adding strength training to my work out regimen is actually changing my body. Just doing cardio and watching what I eat was resulting in "skinny fat." Getting some muscle tone will help my metabolism as well. Zumba is still amazing, and I don't miss it, however getting those week day runs in are certainly a challenge with my work load. I look forward to it warming up outside as well. Rachel and I are a third of the way through out Half-Marathon training, and those long runs are going to start taking up lots of time in our weekends.
*side note* I went to Houston this past weekend to see my friend's newborn baby boy and it was a carb fest. I will spend the first week of February just trying to lose what I gained over the weekend.
Teaching: My 2nd year of teaching is more challenging than my 1st year. The spring semester always brings on more stress as well. I am just taking it day by day and trying to remain positive and do whatever is best for my students.
Let's cross out fingers February is just as successful as January! Gotta keep up with those resolutions!
