Last, first day of College.

Well today is my last, first day of school in college. I started my journey from Frisco to UNT around 7:10 AM. I hit traffic on 121, I hit more traffic on 35E (it was backed up to Corinth) Once I exited a way I had known as a "secret back way", I was in traffic. Traffic was all around campus and I was sitting at the same lights for several green to red sessions. I then reached a construction site that had since hit campus since summer school forcing me to detour. I pulled into the very expensive parking garage at 7:59am and hustled into my 8am class.

Class was fine. This teacher is new to teaching college and is making us buy all of the textbooks, even though Im sure we won't be using them often.. she kept saying that we have to have them because the department requires that we buy them which is complete BS. my science teacher already sent us an e-mail telling us not to buy the text book because she will not be using it. anyway, class let out a good 1 and a half hour early... what is a commuter to do for an almost 3 hour lunch break?

I go to the computer lab to purchase a $180 parking permit (even though I only come to UNT 2 days a week and for this fall semester only) only to find out that they are sold out of parking permits. There will be a new parking garage open in 2011, but of course that does not help me out at all.... so now I need to leave my apt in Frisco at 6:30AM so that I can drive the 30 something miles to Denton and then WALK to school from my old apt complex and pray that I don't get towed... I am thinking since it is only 2 days a week they won't notice.

So after getting frustrating with parking services at this fine university, I go to move my car out of the parking garage.. it is 9:58 by this time... I had to pay $5 to park there for 118 minutes.

I take my car to my old complex.. visitor parking is full of course... I park next to it *fingers crossed* and begin my 20 minute trek to campus. Luckily it isn't very hot outside.

I am then instructed by my mother to go talk to Student Accounting about the credit in my account and how to get that money back.. the lady was very rude to me, and was talking to me like my mom and I were stupid for cutting up the UNT debit card that was sent to us last year... apparently you can only get your refunds when you have the UNT debit card. more BS to add to my day.

so I ate my turkey sandwich sitting on the floor in the over crowded education building... after that I came up to the computer lab to type this little blog up. My class doesnt start for another 35 minutes.

Freshmen year I lived in the dorms and just rolled out of bed into class. Sophomore and Junior year I stayed in my cozy little student living apartment right off campus... I knew UNT was a big time commuter school, but I never knew it was
this bad.. Oh the life of a commuter... I'm sure that it will be Thanksgiving like.. next week... and graduation is only a couple of months away.

I guess I will go sit outside of my classroom for half an hour... Hope my day gets better!
