Caroline had a friend come over, and we made last night into a fun crafty night. We each carved a pumpking, and then we each made a tombstone! We tried to be as thrifty as possible and took my existing paints and had to mix colors to get gray... light blue and black makes a pretty good gray!
My friend had a genius idea and made a tombstone for her kitchen that said "RIP NY season 2010" soooo I had to steal her idea!!!

Caroline did a "RIP Billy Jean" tombstone, and her friends tombstone was a googled idea...
"RIP
Bea A. Fraid
1831-1900
be very afriad"
As far as the pumpkins go, Caroline did a skull face, her friend did a Darth Vador situation, and I did a ghost.. his name is Jiggles...

So... after a long night of wine, carving, and crafting... we decided to do the rest the next day considering it was a school night..
Today we finished! Zip tied our tombstones outside of the balcony.. we spent at LEAST an hour stretching all of the spider web and trying to get it to stick all over the place.. then we put up some jack-o-lantern bulbs... so it looks like a cemetary kinda, and we made some ghosts out of a target sack and wire hangers!
Everyone that drove or walked past told us how good it looked.. so we felt good about it... the RIP Yankees stone was a hit! we checked out the competition, and maybe 4 other balconies are competing.. all of theirs is store bought... ours was hand made! and people laugh at the tombstones!!!!
Here is a pic of the final product! it looks great on the inside of the balcony too! and even better at night with our jack-o-lanterns glowing:)
It has been so long since I've been in the halloween spirit!!!
