Wel I have met my new friends at my new job! I think it is going to be a great summer. Some of the kiddos in my class were in my 3 year old class when I started working at the child care center! They have all been good for me so far.

Today I did my first 6:30 am to 2:30 pm shift. It is interesting to be back at my old job but in a completely different mind set. I was so accustomed to always feeling stressed and nervous about something while at work. I was either getting there in a rush from school, thinking about getting TO school, or worrying about homework I had to do... It's just strange to be there and the stress feeling tries to creep up on me just because of the environment.. but there's nothing to be stressed about this time.

I also used to be stressed about lunch, nap, and getting everything cleaned up in time for my break or the next teacher. Well in school age they don't take naps, they don't run around like crazy kids (well they do but they actually listen when you tell them to stop) and when they eat lunch, they can serve themselves, they know what they are allergic too for the most part, and there is very little mess. I think I picked up 2 green beans off the floor. No need for sweeping up food fights or scrubbing the tables of sticky food!

Their parents also tend to drop their kids off for daycare pretty late, and they pick them up fairly early. I know in preschool some parents drop off as early as they can and pick up at closing time.

The kids are awesome helpers, and enjoy helping me clean, organize etc. Since I am going to be in that classroom everyday, I want it to look nice. I am organizing and cleaning up a little bit at a time so that I know where everything is.

Once field trips start up, the days and weeks will start to go by faster.

Still crossing my fingers for a teaching job this fall.
