This is my last week long term subbing. WHAT?!?!?!
Today we moved the desks back to the way Mrs. Payne had them set up when she left. She had 4 groups of 6 desks together and none touching walls or near her desk area. When I showed up I immediately changed the desks into smaller groups and spread them out. They are so upset about being scrunched together again. They better learn that things are going to be changing for them.
I can tell that my kids are really sad I'm leaving. They keep saying, "Can you just stay even though Mrs. Payne is coming back?" "you can be her student teacher!" Today in all the hustle and bustle of rearranging the room with all the sob stories about how they were all going to miss Ms Conn, I said, "okay, I'm just going to be honest. I wish Mrs. Payne would just want to stay home with her baby so that I could stay with you guys this whole year. There. I said it, I wish I could stay too!" Of course I followed it up with how Mrs. Payne misses them and that they need their teacher back..
I had an interview at an elementary school in Frisco ISD today! for a 5th grade Math and Science teacher. I hope to hear back about that one soon. I have a meeting with another FISD principal on Monday about long term subbing at the end of February. No matter what happens with the interview today, I am at peace.
Will keep you posted. Be prepared for some sad posts coming up!
