It has been such a wonderful Holiday Season! I am so blessed to be able to spend some time with my family and friends!
The Holiday Party with my students was so great! I was showered with cards and gifts when it was my last day, came back a week later for the party and was showered with even more Christmas gifts! such fab kiddos.
I clinched the 5th grade Writing/Social Studies Long term sub position at another elementary school in FISD. The teacher is due at the end of February. Until then, I will keep busy by subbing, studying/getting my ESL certification, and observing my new group of kids. I also have the luxury of continuing to search for a permanent job.
I am excited to have the opportunity to work with 5th graders. I will have 4 classes, class size ranging from 23-26. I will be working pretty much by myself as well. At Ashley, we all planned together and could ask questions or give input whenever needed. I love that, and it's all I've ever known since that is the team I student taught with. Since I will be the only one teaching 5th grade writing/social studies, I am responsible for planning EVERYTHING all by myself. This is nerve wracking, but will only make me a better teacher. Definitely a resume enhancer.
I kind of miss those little kiddies. The curriculum in 4th&5th grade is a lot of fun, but I miss the cutesy stuff sometimes...
Ready to bring in the New Year! Hopefully I won't screw up my New year's Resolutions this time!
