Huzzah!!!

I am finally going to blog about something I have been wanting to say for over a year now...

I HAVE A TEACHING JOB!!!!

It has happened!!! Praise God!

Thank you to all my family and friends that have been nothing but supportive of me through this transitional time in my life. All of the support, love, encouragement, and just being there when I needed to cry or vent or have a pity party is very much appreciated. God had a plan for me and I was trying my best to be patient!!! It all happened in his timing.

I was really feeling down on myself lately. I haven't been blogging about my job search because it was all so depressing. I was going on dozens of interviews, thought they went well, and then received calls (sometimes no call) that I wasn't the right fit for the position. Student teachers were getting jobs in May and I felt like I had wasted my time Long Term Subbing in a district that never wanted to hire me.

About 6 weeks ago I met with the Principal at Christie Elementary. I snagged an interview with him because my mentor had sent him a personal e-mail recommending me for any job he may have available. My interview with just the principal was over the same basic questions I have had at every other interview. He told me that he could call me mid-summer or close to school starting or the next week. He wasn't sure. I didn't hear from him at all, but he told my mentor he hadn't filled the positions yet.

Last week as I was walking through Costco waiting on my tire to get fixed, I got a call from a Frisco number, and it was the principal wanting me to meet with some 5th grade teachers. I went to my interview yesterday and had a 45 minute long interview with the principal, new assistant principal, and the 5th grade team leader. I thought it went very well, but he told me he would be filling in the position in July and that he had other candidates to interview.

Needless to say, I was shocked when I got a call from the assistant principal this morning offering me the job!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I took it of course! She said that the principal is sending off the paper work, and I will sign my contract in about 3 weeks or so! How amazing is that?!?!?!

I called my Mom first and just started crying on the phone. I couldn't believe the words I was saying. The weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. I had a job offer, in Frisco ISD. My wish had come true! I told my mom to spread the word because there were just so many people that have been waiting to hear that I have been offered a job! I put it on facebook and instantly people were commenting and liking my status (as of now I have 103 likes! So much love!).

I was basically pacing around my apartment for an hour freaking out, talking on the phone, and wishing I had someone to hug! (I still havent hugged anyone!)

I got antsy and decided to go look at some apartments.

I signed a lease at the first apartment I went to. Haha it was the PERFECT place and the PERFECT location for me! In my budget, super nice, awesome amenities, and I get FREE MOVERS!

I will have to do an apartment blog later, but if you want to see it, here is the website, and I will be living in the "Augusta"

Thanks again for all your love and support! I love you guys!
