I will start with some happy news. I am on Day 11 of my 24 Day Challenge, which means I have completed the 10 day cleanse portion of it. I have lost 7 lbs since weighing in the day before New Years! My diet was perfection during these past 10 days. I bought a kettle bell and a Jillian Michaels Kettle Bell workout DVD. I couldn't walk normally for about 3 days. I went to yoga to help stretch out some of those muscles, and ended up with a sore core the next day! Being out of shape is rough. I am going to kettle bell it up this weekend and just push through it. Canceling my 24 Hour fitness membership for a while, but until it is up, I will be going to yoga with Christopher on Thursdays.
I have a gym here at my apartment.
It was foolish to hope that nothing new would get added to my plate after I had the perfect routine! We get back to school, and the reality that the STAAR tests are upon us hits home. Our Daily schedules are changing for the kids, and MY personal schedule is going to be hell.
On Mondays-Thursdays, we will be implementing what is called, "Tier time" for 30 minutes each day. This will be happening for grades 3-5 (the grades that take the STAAR test). What it looks like is our entire grade level splits up into small groups throughout the school for "intensive instruction". Out of our 120 kids in the grade level, 70 will be receiving interventions, and the other 40 will be receiving enrichment.
Fridays are going to be called "Marathon Days". They want our kids to read STAAR passages for 30 minutes, and do Math word problems for 30 minutes to build their stamina for the test. They eventually want to up the time to an hour of reading/math, and then 2 hours. Now, we just changed our entire rotation schedule, to provide time to this ON TOP of our required lessons. It cuts our class time down to 50 minutes each rotation. I am not sure how we would provide the time for this when they up the times.
