Well some time has passed since my last update. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
After Thanksgiving break I was back on the grind at school. We had a long stretch before our Winter Break. After procrastinating grading and other school related things during my Thanksgiving week off, I was determined not to let a stack of papers stress me out during my Winter break. I was on a roll those last 5 weeks getting plans done, grading things as they came in, taking care of paperwork, etc. There were a lot of late nights, but I didn't work any weekends. I think *knock on wood* it's safe to say I have a regular routine that I am good at My observations are finished and both went spectacular. I've gotten really good at doing lesson plans, and I now have an awesome grade system. Here's hoping nothing new gets dumped on me! I look forward to going back to school with a clean slate and a fresh 9 weeks on Monday.
We were in school until December 21st, and we started our break a lot later than we did last year, however, on the flip side, we were out until Jan. 7th. I CANNOT believe it's January! My kids take the STAAR test in April! Eeek!
I did pretty good this break not thinking about school. It was hard at first, but after a few days, the urge to plan weeks in advance went away.
I've also done a lot of crafting in the last 2 weeks. I was showing friends on NYE some of the things I've made, and their response after looking and hesitating for a moment was, "Maybe you should get on eHarmony or match.com." Touche my friends. In the mean time I'll be pinteresting for my next DIY project.
And of course the new year always brings resolutions. Health is always at the top of my list. I am sad to say that from the moment I started taking boxes into my classroom, I completely stopped going to the gym/running, and definitely stopped making healthy eating choices. My team is fabulous and I love them, but we need to have a come to Jesus meeting and put a stop to the fast food lunches, donuts for breakfast, and happy hours. Or at least limit them.
With that said, I am on another 24 day challenge. Currently on Day 4 of the 10 day cleanse. I am glad that I would have completed half of my cleanse by the time I get back to school and gotten past the hunger phase. The eating portion has gone great, but I don't want to work out and admit to myself that I have gotten horribly out of shape. Plus it's cold outside!
Will try to update this thing more often. I feel like I always type about the same things, so will also try to think of new material :).
