Well I have officially started my 2nd year of teaching. It is weird no longer being a first year teacher, because I feel like I told people I was a first year teacher for 2 years! I am happy to report that I didn't stay up at school until 7 or 8 every evening... It is a lot easier knowing the curriculum, and having my own system down!
One thing that has proven to be a challenge is that these kids aren't trained like my last class. We have a math folder, a math journal, and a problem solving journal in my class. How difficult is it to remember the problem solving journal stays in the desk, the math journal goes in the crate, and the math folder goes in the class drawer?!?! Apparently it's really difficult... so we will be practicing more procedures next week.
My goal for this year is to lay out my copies and get my board ready for the next day before I leave for the night. We have to be at school at 7:20, and the kids come in at 7:30 (they used to come in at 7:45) So I lost my time to gather my thoughts and write my stuff on the board!!!
I am trying to get back into healthy eating habits and exercising with our music teacher again. Running a half-marathon in December, so I better get back at it!!!
