Let me just start by saying teachers are WAY underpaid.
There are not enough hours in the day OR night! I get home late and wake up early. Tuesday was our monthly fundraiser chick-fil-a night so I went to that to get a jeans pass. Teachers can wear jeans to school if they turn in a pass. Yesterday I practically had a heart attack because grades for progress reports are due on Monday, and the kiddos teacher had only graded 3 things for 3 weeks of school!!!! so I am in a panic trying to get things graded and then if they make bad grade I get stressed, so my weekend will be dedicated to grades.
Positive news: It is college week, so we have been able to wear jeans all week so long as we wear a college t-shirt. Teachers got to decorate their doors for a contest. . . and I won! I get another jeans pass and I get chick-fil-a brought to me for lunch tomorrow! My students screamed so loud when they heard the announcement. They kept asking what THEY won.. but it wasn't a contest for them. So, I am unloading all of my old temporary UNT tattoos on them tomorrow as their "prize".
I can't believe my first week is over! only 11 more to go!
I snagged a bunch of pom poms from the UNT game last weekend and Amanda had all of the UNT stuff from last year. dollars spent on this door = $0. okay well maybe $3 if you count my super cute polaroid magnetic/dry erase frame I snagged at the container store.
