So blogspot is NOT letting me sign into my blog on my laptop. It is the weirdest thing. I have been trying to update for days! I just tried on my room mate's computer and it worked... seriously so weird.
So lots has happened since my last post. My teaching certification is available! I can actually PROVE that I am certified to teach children! Happy day! Now I get to go back into all of my submitted applications and update them all.
I subbed for my old 4th grade class 2 days in a row. I get to sub for them on my last day subbing this Tuesday. It's nice end the year with my kids. It is crazy how fast this year has gone! I remember going into inservice the week before school started like it was yesterday. I knew nothing then compared to what I know now! And all of my students have come so far! Every 4th grader in my class PASSED the TAKS test!!! woohoo! My kindergartners went from not knowing their letters or sounds and are now READING books by themselves! So much has changed and I can't believe how fast it went! I'm sure by my 10th year teaching I will have different feelings about how fast the year goes.
Today I began going through all of my binders and papers that I have kept throughout the years. I HATE clutter, and I usually do a pretty good job purging of papers I no longer need after each semester. I went to do my end of the year purge now that my degree is posted and I'm certified, and I can not believe all of the papers I am finding. Throughout student teaching, mentors and other teachers would give me papers such as really good worksheets, lesson plans, articles, etc. and would say, "Here, you may need these for your records." Well... I never really got around to organizing a system for my "records" so papers were just shoved in random folders and I would tell myself I would get to it later. Well... It's later...
My mom is on her way to my apartment as I type this. She is taking me to a mystery location for my birthday this weekend. I am looking forward to it!
